-
How the courses stand out
-
What's exciting about studying with us
-
How students can benefit from flexible learning
-
Networking opportunities for online students
[MUSIC PLAYING] - The difference for this what we are offering from is very clear that we are offering some kind of, I would call it, hybrid model. That means that you are online. You've got flexibility, and you can-- you don't have live lectures except the one weekly webinar.
But at the same time, you are receiving this support from student advisor team. You also receive support from tutor when you've got opportunity to meet tutor once a week for a live webinar. So it would work as a seminar in a normal university setting.
But at the same time, you can choose when are you studying, how you are studying. You can pick and choose your own time. So I would say this is a unique combination because we are not fully only online, where you are required to do everything independently. You still got our support from student advisor team, tutors, module leaders, and course, advisors as well.
- I think the fact that it's delivered 100% online means that it's able to fit around your individual lives. And again, that's something that we'll talk about more specifically, but the notion of flexibility and being able to take this out immediately into your careers and your workplace is something that's not really offered by face-to-face programs or full-time programs.
So I think the application of what you're learning as you go is a real benefit to the program-- of the program.
- Yeah. No. I agree. Also, I think because it is global, people can see their work through a different lens to maybe what their country views life from. So definitely, the networking, I think, is exciting to getting to contribute towards the student forums and get involved. The more you put in, the more you get out, I guess.
- With each program, whether it's the business management or the project management, it's broken down into individual modules. So what you're likely to be doing when you're studying is focusing on a specific area of business management or project management for a period of up to eight weeks of taught learning and then a further two weeks to complete the assessment.
And then after you finish one of those, you'll move on to the next one. So all of the delivery is managed and streamlined sequentially rather than trying to study two or three things at the same time. And we think that gives a great opportunity for the students who are busy individuals or have a variety of different demands on their time to be able to engage with the materials on a week by week basis.
The 20 hours of weekly content can be determined-- or you can determine how and when you'll engage with those materials. So I think probably the best way to try and advise this is perhaps to think about different types of learners that we would have on the course.
So for example, I mentioned that we have professionals who are maybe looking for certification in a specific area to support their job. Now, these people will be working 9 to 5, or they'll be working long days, normally Monday to Friday. Certainly in the UK, depending on where you are in the world. Obviously, the weekends are different.
So you might not have that time to engage during those office hours or the traditional office hours. But that means maybe when you finished work, you're able to then switch from work mode to study mode and engage in the evenings.
It's entirely possible that maybe you work in an industry where you have erratic hours. And therefore, the program is designed to be able to accommodate those needs. So if, for example, you work in the hospitality industry, you don't often the 9 to 5 traditional workday or the weekends free.
You might find yourself actually working until midnight in your day-to-day job and then need to-- or have time at 2:00 in the morning, for example, to do your studying. But the course is designed to accommodate that. Similarly, you may have family commitments. So when-- with young children. So when young children are up and awake, I know from experience, it's very difficult to get anything done.
So maybe in the afternoon, if you've got a young baby that's taking a nap that you can then use that time to do some studying whilst they're asleep. So the flexibility side of the course is ingrained from how it's designed and how it's set up. And it means that whoever you are with whatever needs that you have with regards to your learning, you're able to fit those around your day to day lives.
- You will have an opportunity to network yourself because students are coming from different industries and different experience. That is the first thing. And second thing is you will have an opportunity to-- I don't know if that was mentioned-- participate in some of the events.
We are just now talking about create a face-to-face event where we can meet up all together in the UK and network and work together. And also, obviously, you are able to attend LSBU graduation face-to-face as well. So we are looking forward to see you after you completed your degree.
